Douglas County has many excellent medical facilities located throughout for the convenience of residents. There are several urgent care and primary care clinics in the larger communities. Umpqua Community Health Center offers family medical care at locations throughout Douglas County, including Roseburg, Sutherlin, Myrtle Creek, and Glide. CHI Mercy Health Mercy Medical Center (2700 Northwest Stewart Parkway, Roseburg) and Lower Umpqua Hospital (600 Ranch Road, Reedsport) are the county’s two comprehensive hospitals. Both hospitals offer full inpatient and outpatient services, as well as 24 hour emergency care.

Traveling throughout Douglas County is a breeze thanks to the excellent transportation network. Interstate 5 serves as the major thoroughfare, running north to south through the center of the county. Oregon Routes 38 and 138 connect communities in the western and eastern portions of the county to the interstate. For those living on the coast, US Route 101 runs all the way from Washington through California.
